Earlier
this year I had a falling out with a friend. Just recently however I got the
guts to talk it out with said person. Why however did it take me so long to
work on things with this person? I am not so sure myself. Why is it that we are
so against forgiving others who have wronged us, or apologize to those we have
hurt? Are we to prideful? To scared to? Or just ignorant to others feelings as
well as our own? It is a complex mystery that has eluded many people from
understanding others mindsets. None the less, I believe that if you have any
doubt in your mind that you have wronged someone or you have the slightest
amount of guilt you should try and reconcile. It may not be easy, hell let’s
face it, it’s never easy to admit you were wrong, but it will make you feel
better. “Forgive and Forget” is the motto, but personally I disagree. The forgive
part…sure…but the forget part…not so much. It is important to learn from your
mistakes and build off them to become a better person, because you know “history
tends to repeat itself.”
